Ar. Ryan is one of the pioneering students of the BSA Program of UP Mindanao. He received his BS Architecture degree from UP Mindanao, MS Environmental and Resource Management from the University of Southeastern Philippines, and MS in Urban and Regional Planning from UP Mindanao.

Urban dwellers’ view on hazards and disasters; and, the COVID19 pandemic: implications for resilient urban housing in the post-pandemic period (2022)


Minnie Rosel is a graduate of U.P. Diliman and has worked for private, government, and international organizations. After establishing a career in Metro Manila, she moved to Mindanao in pursuit of countryside development through knowledge process outsourcing and devoted a few years as a volunteer/consultant for the post-disaster rehabilitation of the Eastern Visayas Region.   She has also substantially contributed to her professional organizations, particularly through continuing professional education and conventions. She began teaching in 2008 for Environmental Planning and Management at Miriam College and joined U.P. Mindanao in 2018.

Micah graduated BS in Civil Engineering at the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) in Kabacan, Cotabato. Before joining UP Mindanao in 2018, she served in various positions in the Business Development and Management Department at a real estate development company in Davao city, the last of which was as a Sr. Project Officer for a mid-cost housing project. She finished her Master of Arts in Urban and Regional Planning (MAURP) and gained her Environmental Planner license in 2019.

Samantha Arbotante teaches courses in Architecture history, communication, and laws. She received her architecture degree at the University of the Philippines Mindanao. A recipient of a full scholarship from VLIR-UOS, she obtained a post-graduate degree at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium and graduated cum laude. She focused on human settlements and further studied landscape urbanism with social cohesion integration. Before entering academia, Samantha worked with an architecture and urban design firm, PC Tan Architects and a construction firm in ANDC. Through these, she produced works of planning various projects while assisting in construction and management.

Ar. Sheena earned her BS Architecture degree from the University of the Philippines Mindanao. Ar. Sheena Franco practices her profession as the principal architect and master plumber of Kuris Arkitektura. She is a certified Cultural Mapping Facilitator and a member of the Grupo Kalinangan, Inc. She also acquired a certification for Hospital Planning and Designing from the Department of Health, United Architects of the Philippines, and Council of Deans and Heads of Architecture Schools in the Philippines.
